Burgundy & Beaujolais by Barge
In Burgundy, 'Fleur de Lys' floats on the most popular waterways in France. Here, in the heart of France's most famous wine-producing region, her guests enjoy many opportunities to sample the local vintages and enjoy the good life.
The Franche-Comté is, first and foremost, a place for holidays - where scenic lakes, quiet valleys and unspoiled villages patiently await the arrival of 'Fleur de Lys.' At medieval Dole, visit the old town center to stroll its many narrow, cobbled streets.
When she heads southward to Beaujolais, 'Fleur de Lys' enters another famous wine-producing region that was once part of Burgundy - a picturesque area that is home to more than 4,000 grape growers. She then continues to Lyon, which is on the World Heritage List as one of the world's most treasured cities.
Similar in size to a large hotel barge (which might carry up to 22 passengers), air-conditioned 'Fleur de Lys' carries a maximum of six guests in luxurious style. Three spacious suites contain canopied beds and bathrooms with twin basins and tub. A large lounge, library, grand piano, television, video, stereo, games and writing desk all cocoon the traveller in elegance and comfort.
The sun deck is furnished with reclining sun chairs, and 'Fleur de Lys' has her own heated pool.
