Of the more than 200 cruisers now sailing the Nile, none surpass, in comfort, service or cuisine, A&K's own 'Sun Boat IV.'
Born to sail the Nile
Exclusive A&K docking facilities at Luxor and Aswan ensure that our ships are always conveniently located and easy to board.
In touch on holiday
We make the most of modern technology to help you keep in touch with the world outside the Nile Valley. A&K's Nile fleet has on-board Internet access, satellite television connections, and daily deliveries of international newspapers.
Relax!
It's our policy to ensure that all travellers on board a Nile cruise enjoy their stay in peace and comfort. Mobile phone use is not allowed on board, and smoking is permitted only in designated areas of the outer deck.
The A&K Advantage:
Not included: Passenger Travel Protection Program; international and internal airfares, unless otherwise noted; costs associated with obtaining passports or entry visas; airport departure taxes, unless otherwise noted; excess baggage charges; gratuities to the A&K Tour Director or Egyptologists on Escorted Programs as outlined in the GRATUITIES ON ESCORTED PROGRAMS section; meals other than specified in the itinerary; beverages other than noted in your "Pre-Tour Documentation," sightseeing not included in the itinerary; personal expenses such as laundry, communication charges and optional activities (which are subject to availability).
Discover the marvels of ancient Egypt and Jordan from the comfort of your luxurious Nile boat and hotels.
The best way to ensure that travellers enjoy the finest cruise experience on the Nile is to design, build and sail your own fleet of Nile ships - and that's just what Abercrombie & Kent has done.
We began with a simple idea: to create spacious, technologically up-to-date and safety-conscious ships designed expressly for Nile cruising. No retrofits or renovations in our fleet: The A&K ships were born to sail the sunny Nile. 'Sun Boat IV' has large, inviting lounges lined with windows so you can sightsee as you relax over a cool drink or a game of backgammon. On spacious sun decks atop each cruiser, comfortable lounge chairs surround plunge pools, perfect for a refreshing dip under brilliant Egyptian skies.

Built during the reign of Ramses II, the Great Temple at Abu Simbel is considered one of the most beautiful in Egypt. The larger temple houses four statues of Ra-Harakhte, Ptah, Amun-Ra and Pharaoh Ramses II himself. The axis of the temple was positioned by the ancient Egyptian architects in such a way that, twice a year, the rays of the sun would penetrate the sanctuary and illuminate the sculpture. Fly to Aswan to board 'Sun Boat IV.' After lunch wander through the granite quarries where the enormous Unfinished Obelisk was discovered. Explore the High Dam, the world's largest rock-filled dam at a length of 1,500 feet. Board a motorboat to the island of Agilika where you explore the majestic Philae Temple.
