DAY 1
BANGKOK
Arrive Bangkok, stay for two nights at The Oriental.

DAY 2
BANGKOK
This morning enjoy a visit to the Grand Palace, before an afternoon at leisure.

DAY 3
BANGKOK / EASTERN & ORIENTAL EXPRESS
Afternoon departure on the E&O for Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Relax while tea is served as you travel into north-east Thailand. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 4
EASTERN & ORIENTAL EXPRESS
After breakfast in your compartment disembark for a tour to the impressive Phimai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most important Khmer monuments in Thailand. Lunch on board as the journey continues on to Khao Yai for a visit to a local vineyard with the opportunity to taste wines that are being called "New Latitude Wines". Reboard the E&O in time for dinner. Overnight on board.

DAY 5
NONG KHAI & LUANG PRABANG
Morning arrival in Nong Khai and cross to Laos for a short orientation tour. Vientiane, the capital of Laos, is a city of contrasts, where French colonial architecture sits alongside gilded Asian temples.

At the end of the tour transfer to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang. Stay for three nights at La Résidence Phou Vao including dinner each evening.

DAYS 6 & 7
LUANG PRABANG
Enjoy this beautiful town with its French colonial architecture, impressive temples and colourful markets. A full day of sightseeing is included on Day 6. Perhaps enjoy time at the hotel's spa or further explore independently.

DAY 8
FLIGHT
Transfer to the airport and your onward flight to Bangkok.
