The Eastern&Oriental Express was designed and perfected through years of experience. A train for the tropics, it has a number of pleasing refinements which ensure your complete comfort. your cool, spacious and air-conditioned cabin is lavishly appointed with rich, inlaid woods, antique brass fittings and large windows which offer excellent views of the ever-changing countryside. Crisp bed linens, refreshing en suite showers... everything combined helps you to unwind and prepare for the challenges and excitements of your next destination, your next excursion, the next river trip or shopping expedition.

Dining Car Whatever your needs or requirements, a steward is at hand to attend to them. We want your journey to be effortless, your energies conserved for nothing but enjoyment. The atmosphere on board the Eastern & Oriental Express is refined, yet informal. Each morning a breakfast of freshly-baked croissants, coffee, tea, juice and fruit is delivered to your cabin at a time to suit you. After a leisurely shower you may simply wish to relax or join other guests in our open-sided Observation Carriage. From here you can enjoy the tropical scenery to its best advantage.
Lunch is a leisurely affair while afternoon tea is in true colonial style, with aromatic Earl Grey tea and cakes recalling the simple pleasures of a gracious era. Then on to dinner in our opulent dining car where sparkling crystal, subdued lighting and French silverware set the scene for delicious Eurasian cuisine, with its subtle sauces and spices finely balanced by our expertly chosen wine list. A cognac in the Bar Car, perhaps while the piano plays softly? You may intend to go to bed early, but it's so easy to fall into pleasant conversation...

Friendly and courteous service is the hallmark of a journey on the Eastern & Oriental Express, from the moment passengers are welcomed aboard. A quarter of a mile in length, the air-conditioned gleaming green and cream carriages evoke the great age of luxury train travel and are a world of opulence and fine craftsmanship.

Passengers may select from three types of compartment: Superior, State and the Presidential Suite. All with en suite shower room, and beautifully appointed they convert in moments from daytime seating to a comfortable bedroom.
Bar Time aboard the train is full of diversions. In the Dining Cars, the very best of European and Asian cuisines are combined to mouth-watering effect.

The Bar Car with its resident pianist and variety of local entertainment, provides a special opportunity to meet fellow travellers. In the Saloon car, the Boutique sells a range of exclusive Collection Eastern & Oriental Express merchandise, and there is also a Reading Room with a varied library. The most popular place on board however, is unquestionably the open decked Observation Car which provides an unbeatable opportunity to enjoy the ever changing scenery.
