Tour the Top Fly Fishing Rivers

curve The south regions of Alberta and British Columbia are blessed with some of the finest fly fishing waters in the world. Long considered one of the top fly-fishing rivers in the world, the Bow River flows from the glaciers of Banff National Park and winds its way through the majestic Canadian Rockies. Flowing into the foothills and through the thriving city of Calgary, where it becomes the world famous Blue Ribbon Lower Bow, the river is home to an incredible population of huge Browns and Rainbows that are famous for their affinity for a fly.

curve There is also the dry fly friendly Crowsnest River, which sits just north of the Alberta-Montana border. Here, wild Rainbows, Cutthroats and Bull trout abound in spectacular Rocky Mountain foothills setting.

curve Traveling west into the south-east corner of British Columbia the Royal Canadian follows the renowned Elk River with its' native population of Westslope Cutthroat and giant Bull Trout.

curve On the last leg of the tour the Royal Canadian travels north through the picturesque Columbia Valley and then climbs east through the spectacular Spiral Tunnels. After crossing the continental divide and entering the world famous Banff National Park the Royal Canadian follows the headwaters of the Bow River, known locally as the "Upper Bow". Here your fly-fishing skills will be challenged by big, wily wild browns lurking in the labyrinth of logjams and side channels that are the trademark of this section. This is one of the best pieces of driftboat water in North America and makes for a fitting finish to your fly-fishing tour.
