Wardrobe Notes
Enjoy the party atmosphere by keeping to this simple rule: you can never be overdressed. Gentlemen should wear a minimum of jacket and tie at dinner. During the day, dress is casual, but smart.
If you are departing from, or ending your journey in London, you cross the English Channel by SeaCat catamaran. The VSOE hostesses escort you to reserved seats via customs and immigration. There are extensive duty paid goods, bar and refreshment facilities on board. In the event of the SeaCat's unavailability, we will use alternative service.
Luggage space is restricted to two suitcases and two smaller bags. Seasoned travellers pack overnight and evening requirements in light suitcases for the cabin and heavier bags are checked-in through to their final destination. Although we have no maximum baggage allowance, most national and international airlines permit no more than 20kgs (44lbs) per passenger.
Table d'hote meals are included in your fare on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. An a la carte menu for lunch and dinner is available at an additional cost.
On the English British Pullman carriages, you are reserved a seat. On the continental train, overnight passengers have their own cabins, equipped with washing facilities. Lavatories are situated at the end of each sleeping car.
