The Sydney, Red Center & Reef itinerary combines the city of Sydney with the mysteries of Ayers Rock and the Aboriginal desert with the Great Barrier Reef. With the Gold series program, you will enjoy well located deluxe hotels and private excursions that give you the opportunity to explore in unhurried comfort and style from Sydney, to Ayers Rock and Uluru to the relaxing tropical coast before ending with the 2003 Rotary convention in Brisbane. Take the tour after Convention and you will start with a relaxing stay on the coast, than on to the Red Center with Sydney as the last stop before your flight home.

Fri, May 23: Arrive in Sydney
Upon arrival at the Sydney Airport you will be met by an Abercrombie & Kent guide and transferred to your hotel by private vehicle. Your hotel room will be ready for immediate occupancy and the remainder of the morning is at leisure.
This afternoon join your A&K guide for an afternoon cruise onboard a private vessel on Sydney Harbour. Enjoy spectacular scenery including the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and the many lovely homes built around this magnificent harbour while relaxing on the deck enjoying champagne and canapes.

Sat, May 24: Sydney Sightseeing
This morning, join your A&K guide for a tour that begins with a visit to the historic Rocks area with its narrow cobbled streets and convict buildings. Enjoy a private tour of the Opera House before visiting the quaint suburb of Paddington to see tiny Victorian houses decorated with cast iron "lacework", much of which came to Australia as ballast in the holds of the wool and grain clippers over 100 years ago. Enjoy lunch at a delightful waterfront restaurant, after which you will explore Sydney further before returning to the hotel.

Sun, May 25: Day at Leisure
Today is at leisure to explore Sydney on your own or choose from a range of optional tours that can include the Blue Mountains by helicopter, surfing lessons, bridge climbing or touring the shops and galleries of Sydney with a guide.

Mon, May 26: Sydney to Ayers Rock
Transfer to the Sydney Airport to board your flight to Ayers Rock. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to Sails in the Desert. On your afternoon tour, drive into the desert to visit the "Olgas", a series of massive, vividly colored domed rocks rising from the plains. Enjoy a walk through one of the many valleys and learn a little about the unique desert flora and fauna of Central Australia. Continue onto 'Sunset Strip' to see the sun setting on magical Ayers Rock. Drink a toast to the beauty of the desert and the 'Rock' as the colors change from reds to oranges to pinks. Return to the hotel for overnight.

Tue, May 27: Ayers Rock to Cairns
Take an early morning tour to view the magnificent colors of Ayers Rock at sunrise. If you are feeling energetic, perhaps attempt the 1,144 foot climb to the summit of the Rock for a spectacular panorama of the surrounding desert (entirely optional!). With a circumference of 8 kilometers, the Rock is sacred to the local aboriginal tribes, and during a walk around the base see hallowed sites and view paintings of ancient Aboriginal tribal myths before returning to the hotel.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairns. Upon arrival in Cairns you will be met and transferred to Angsana Resort for overnight. The rest of the day is yours to relax on the beach or enjoy the spa.

Transfer to the airport in Cairns to board a flight to Hayman Island. Upon arrival you will be escorted to your room.

The next two days are at leisure to enjoy this wonderful award-winning island resort. Play tennis, work out in the gym or be pampered at the Health Club. Spend time by the pool, water ski, sail, snorkel, parasail, windsurf or scuba dive. Perhaps take a journey to the Great Barrier Reef or take a small boat to a deserted beach and enjoy a private picnic. The possibilities are endless.
